These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website gisforus.com, the associated web application at app.gisforus.com, and the GISFORUS Field Android application (package com.gisforus.app) available on the Google Play Store (together, the "Service"), operated by GISFORUS / Spatial Research Suite ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
You may use the Service for lawful research, educational, analytical, and professional purposes. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it, access it through automated means without permission, or use it to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
Research-grade estimate disclaimer — please read carefully.
GISforus provides research-grade geospatial estimates derived from satellite imagery and statistical models. Outputs — including land-cover classifications, area figures, vegetation and water indices, coral-health indicators, accuracy metrics, and all maps and charts — are analytical approximations for research and educational use only. They are not certified survey data, cadastral or boundary determinations, navigational data, engineering specifications, or legal documents, and must not be used as the sole basis for legal, financial, regulatory, safety-critical, property-boundary, or life-critical decisions. Satellite-derived results are inherently subject to sensor limitations, atmospheric conditions, cloud cover, image resolution, and model uncertainty. For any authoritative determination, always verify results against ground truth and consult a licensed professional surveyor, engineer, or relevant authority.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or reliable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GISforus and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any reliance placed on outputs generated by the Service.
The Site content, branding, text, and software are owned by or licensed to GISforus and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Underlying satellite datasets (e.g., Landsat, Sentinel-2, MODIS) remain the property of their respective providers and are subject to their own licences. You retain ownership of analyses and exports you generate, subject to those upstream data licences.
Website & web app. The Site displays advertising through Google AdSense and may link to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties.
Android app (GISFORUS Field). The app is free to download and use. For free users it displays banner ads via Google AdMob. You may remove ads by purchasing "Pro", a one-time in-app purchase processed through Google Play Billing. All payments are handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service; we do not process or store your payment details. Refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes for in-app purchases are handled by Google Play in accordance with its policies. The app requires no account or login. Your use of advertising and third-party services is governed by their respective terms and by our Privacy Policy.
We may modify these Terms or the Service at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.
