About GISforus

GISforus — the Spatial Research Suite — is a browser-based platform that makes research-grade satellite and geospatial analysis accessible to everyone studying the planet, without requiring a single line of code.

Why we exist

The Earth is observed continuously from orbit, producing a freely available record of environmental change unmatched in human history. Yet for most of the people who could act on that record — ecologists, environmental researchers, planners, and conservation teams — it has remained out of reach, locked behind programming skills, costly licences, and heavy computing requirements. We built GISforus to close that gap: to turn planetary-scale satellite analysis from a specialist craft into an everyday research tool.

What we do

GISforus provides a guided, no-code interface to some of the most capable geospatial technology available, including a direct integration with Google Earth Engine. Through the platform you can:

Every workflow is method-based and documented, so results are transparent, reproducible, and defensible under peer review.

Our expertise

GISforus was founded by Anant Kumar Pathak, a researcher working at the intersection of geospatial science, remote sensing, and environmental sustainability. The platform grew out of applied doctoral research on coastal sustainability, where the daily reality of wrestling satellite data into usable evidence made the need for an accessible, rigorous tool unmistakable. That academic grounding shapes the product: the methods, formulas, band configurations, and citations behind every analysis are published openly in our Resources library and Knowledge Hub, because we believe a research instrument should never be a black box.

Our commitment

We are guided by a simple conviction: better environmental decisions require better, more widely shared evidence. Everything we build is oriented toward stewardship, scientific rigour, transparency, and long-term ecological balance. We want the next generation of environmental stewards to be able to pick up powerful Earth-observation tools and start protecting the planet today.
