These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website gisforus.com, the GIS4US Spatial Research Suite desktop application for macOS and Windows (the "Mac App"; references to the Mac App include the Windows version), the GIS4US Field Android application (package com.GISFORUS_Field.app) available on the Google Play Store, and the web application at app.gisforus.com, which is currently suspended (together, the "Service"), operated by GIS4US / Spatial Research Suite ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
You may use the Service for lawful research, educational, analytical, and professional purposes. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it, access it through automated means without permission, or use it to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
Research-grade estimate disclaimer — please read carefully.
GIS4US provides research-grade geospatial estimates derived from satellite imagery and statistical models. Outputs — including land-cover classifications, area figures, vegetation and water indices, coral-health indicators, accuracy metrics, and all maps and charts — are analytical approximations for research and educational use only. They are not certified survey data, cadastral or boundary determinations, navigational data, engineering specifications, or legal documents, and must not be used as the sole basis for legal, financial, regulatory, safety-critical, property-boundary, or life-critical decisions. Satellite-derived results are inherently subject to sensor limitations, atmospheric conditions, cloud cover, image resolution, and model uncertainty. For any authoritative determination, always verify results against ground truth and consult a licensed professional surveyor, engineer, or relevant authority.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or reliable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GIS4US and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any reliance placed on outputs generated by the Service.
The Site content, branding, text, and software are owned by or licensed to GIS4US and are protected by intellectual-property laws. The Mac App is proprietary software: we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use it; you may not resell, redistribute or modify the application itself. The source code in our public GitHub repository is released under the MIT licence as the open research build; the packaged GIS4US desktop app is a proprietary product, and its paid-export features are not part of that MIT grant. Underlying satellite datasets (e.g., Landsat, Sentinel-2, MODIS) remain the property of their respective providers and are subject to their own licences. You retain ownership of analyses and exports you generate, subject to those upstream data licences.
Website. The Site does not display advertising. It may link to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties.
Desktop app (Spatial Research Suite for Mac and Windows). The Mac App is free to download and use, and every analysis can be run free on your own Google Earth Engine account. Exporting maps, data tables and publication figures requires a paid Basic or Pro subscription. Plans are Free (₹0), Basic (₹299 per month) and Pro (₹799 per month); the features of each are listed on the Mac app page and in the app. Billing and cancellation are covered in Section 6. The Mac App is provided "as is", without warranty, as set out in Section 2. Your use of Google Earth Engine is governed by Google's own terms.
Android app (GIS4US Field). The app is free to download and use. For free users it displays banner ads via Google AdMob. An optional "Pro" upgrade removes ads and unlocks exports, log review, the Pro analysis tools and full formula code. Pro is sold through Google Play Billing as a one-time lifetime purchase or as a monthly or annual subscription; subscriptions can be managed or cancelled in Google Play. All payments are handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service; we do not process or store your payment details. Refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes for in-app purchases are handled by Google Play in accordance with its policies. Field tools need no account; the Earth Engine analysis module asks you to sign in with your own Google account. Your use of advertising and third-party services is governed by their respective terms and by our Privacy Policy.
Basic and Pro are billed as recurring monthly subscriptions through our payment processor, Razorpay. You subscribe from the in-app Upgrade button, which opens a Razorpay checkout in your browser. You can cancel at any time by emailing anant4infinity@gmail.com; we stop the next renewal, your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged again.
7-day refund on your first subscription. If you ask within 7 days of your first Basic or Pro payment, we will refund it in full. Renewals and later months are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law or in the case of a duplicate or erroneous charge. To request a refund or report a charge, email anant4infinity@gmail.com.
Cancelling returns your account to the Free tier; your locally stored data and settings are not affected. Prices are in Indian rupees (INR); international cards are accepted and charged in INR at the current exchange rate. Prices may change with notice; any change applies from your next billing cycle.
We may modify these Terms or the Service at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.
